About Musick & Memories

 

I’m a long time resident of East Texas and currently reside in beautiful, little Groveton. I live with my husband of 18 years, our son and four dogs who rescued us; Saybra, Shayne, Levi & Mr. Pig. I am a proud Lumberjack mom (axe ‘em!) with a daughter on her way to graduation with an English degree.

 

I try not to confine myself to “everybody say cheese” photography. You live life out loud and I want your images to reflect that! I truly do love doing what I do. It makes my heart feel good. I'm finally making something. ME! I can't sing, I can't draw, and I can't craft. This is what God gave me.

 

My Dad died of Alzheimer's related issues in October of 2011. He lost so many of his memories. All the things they talked about at his funeral & all the reasons he was such a great man....he didn't remember those. It robbed him of his life's experiences and the things that he earned. That showed me that at the end of the day we have two things: our memories and the music that plays in our heads while we relive them.

 

I sat on my dad's bedside one night and we had the goodbye talk. I was floored. As sure as I was (and am) of God's presence, it was something I was not prepared for. So now...in my memory box is my dad stroking my hand and telling me I was special. That was the beginning of Musick & Memories.

 

I won’t ever be rich and that’s okay. I’ll have days like I have with your family and the feeling of knowing that when you're gone that your family and children will not just have the pictures...but they'll remember watching you kiss and giggle and running through the pastures & the cow patties. Those things...those things belong to you all and you shared it with me. So we are a little Musick & a lot of Memories.
